Poison Ivy, also known as Pamela Isley, is a prominent character in DC Comics, first appearing in Batman #181 (June 1966). Originally a promising botany student, Isley was manipulated and experimented on by her professor, Dr. Jason Woodrue. These experiments infused her with plant toxins and granted her control over plant life, as well as making her immune to all poisons and viruses.

This transformation warped her personality, leading her down a path of eco-terrorism. Poison Ivy views humanity as a threat to the natural world and seeks to protect plants at all costs. She uses her pheromones to control others and her knowledge of botany to create potent toxins.

Poison Ivy has often been portrayed as both a villain and an anti-hero. While she frequently clashes with Batman, she also displays moments of compassion and has even worked alongside him on occasion. Her motivations are driven by a deep love for the natural world and a desire to restore balance to the environment.
